Superintendent

Selectee serves as the Park Manager (Superintendent) for Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River (UPDE), located in New York and Pennsylvania, with responsibility for the preservation, interpretation, maintenance, administration, and development of the park, and the safety and well-being of staff, volunteers, and visitors for the park. The park is located in two different states - NY and PA. It is a highly complex operation involving cooperation with two separate Congressional delegations, administrations of five different counties from two state with dramatically different policies and numerous State agencies. The Superintendent is required to function within two completely different sets of state laws, regulations and policies, as well as work directly with the Delaware River Basin Commission who has the authority to regulate and protect both water quality and quantity. The Superintendent works closely with the Upper Delaware Council to implement a unique management structure focused on implementation of the Upper Delaware River Management Plan. Incumbent is required to travel between states frequently and often attend after hours meetings with citizens support groups and special events. All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-08/07/2020-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect either full-time or 40 hours per week. If a part-time work schedule is reflected, the hours must be annotated to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-14 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform successfully the duties of the position to be filled. Examples of qualifying specialized experience includes, but is not limited to:
managing, or performing substantial specialized work in a park or similar park and land unit program, in natural and/or cultural resource management, concessions and land management, recreation management, interpretation, law enforcement involving the protection of natural and/or cultural resources, all aspects of administration, construction and maintenance, or other related work. Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
